Kratom Legality Updates via the AKA

Kratom Legality Updates via the AKA
for the states of MS, FL & WI…
Just in via the American Kratom Association:
FLORIDA Senate Hearing on KCPA:“Dear Kratom Protectors:

I had the honor of testifying before the Florida Senate Committee on Commerce & Tourism on SB 1076, the Kratom Consumer Protection Act, on Tuesday, January 18. Prior to the Hearing we had the opportunity to share the kratom story with a number of members, and the Committee voted unanimously to pass the KCPA with a favorable recommendation.

There are two more Committee Hearings on the Senate side before the KCPA goes to the House, but this was an outstanding start in getting needed consumer protections for kratom consumers in Florida.

Thanks to all the Kratom Protectors who are working hard to support the KCPA.

With your support the AKA is working hard to pass KCPA legislation in Florida and just as hard to stop potential bans across America like new proposed bans in Washington State and Kentucky.

Mississippi Kratom Ban Update:

“We had great news with the filing of the Mississippi Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA) by Senator Jeff Tate. Senator Tate has been concerned about kratom and even announced he would file a bill to ban kratom, but he has listened to kratom advocates and reviewed the science on kratom. His support for the KCPA is a very important step towards passage.

PROPOSED MISSISSIPPI KCPA

However, there is bad news too. There are two new kratom ban bills filed in Mississippi that the AKA is working hard to stop. We will reach out soon on how you can help share your story to show why the KCPA, and not bans, is the proper way for states to ensure kratom is pure and unadulterated for their citizens.

PEARL RIVER BOARD MEETING

The presentation will take place on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11am.

PRE-MEETING AKA ADVOCATE GATHERING: 10:30 AM outside of the Supervisor’s Board Room with Mac Haddow at the County offices at 200 South Main Street, Poplarville, MS.

This is not a public hearing on any ordinance that would ban kratom, and advocates are asked to not sign up to speak until that Hearing is scheduled.

The Pearl River Board of County Supervisors has invited Mac Haddow, Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the American Kratom Association, to discuss the science supporting continued consumer access to safely formulated kratom products.”

Wisconsin Kratom Ban Update:

“The FDA’s false attacks are starting to crumble in the states they misled into enacting bans on kratom.

The Wisconsin House State Affairs Committee voted 9-2 to repeal their ban on kratom and replace it with the Kratom Consumer Protection Act.”
